Generally they only cry when they are hungry, or in pain. Sooo feed em first, and if that doesn't work see whats ailing them.
Some do like a little attention too, others are a little more solitary

Throw down some feed and leave. Avoid the hen house as well. Don't worry I am not a cow even if I am full of bull some of the time.
