I think rabbits probably lead exciting lives: "So, anyway, I'm in this field, eatin' clover, right? And this hawk comes flyin' down, right at me! So I run left, and he just misses me, and I run right, and I sit up, put my ears up, you know? Listenin'? And he comes back, right over my shoulder! And I ran and ran, and I just made it to the high weeds in time. See that scar, on my neck? Talons, baby. They were THAT CLOSE. So, anyway, why don't I get your number and meet you later, all right? Show you my other scars, tell you all about the fox...yeah, good times. Good times."

The giant tortoise, they live longer than any other animal, so could build up quite a stock of tales. (One's just died that was on the Beagle - Charles Darwin's ship). It's also one of the slowest, it would have time to notice everything that went on around it, not like those darned fast cheetahs, rushing here there and everywhere ... not paying attention.

You know what Colin the Cheetah would say, he'd say "Ooo, Ooo; guess what I saw yesterday? You'll never guess ... at least try! I saw this old wise tortoise telling a story. What was it about? I don't know! I was gone before he'd finished the first word, silly!"

Elephants are long lived, so I would think that they could tell some stories that would make us laugh and some that would break our hearts.
