I would like a small animal that is cuddly and really friendly, but is not as expensive as a mini dog.

I just researched rabbits as pets because someone was going to give us one. They can be wonderful pets! Choose one that's friendly the minute you meet it. Don't worry about pellets all around if you're willing to take a little time to train it. They can be trained to "go" where ever you want it to, on paper, etc.

Enjoy!

Rabbits are cute and all but you can't let them outside or they will dig and run away. You basically have to leave them in their cage most of the time, unless you want to pick up his pellets as he runs around the house.

They are, however, very cuddly like a cat. They just sit on your lap if your watching tv or reading ya know chillin. They love being pet, pat, petted, whatever - they like people.

Never had a Guinea Pig but I have had hamsters, they kinda do their own thing. Generally don't like to be held, they are very active. They need a wheel in their cage and a ball when they are let out.

lol Good luck. Thing is...rabbits are like people, they all have different personalities. There is no way of knowing what you are getting until you get it home. My mother had 2 rabbits, one big lop ear, and one dwarf chocolate. The lop ear lived with her 10 years and could never be touched because it would literally attack you. It wasn't for lack of trying, people in my family are serious about pets. She could feed it, water it, and let it out to run but could never play, pet, or interact. The little brown one was a different story...it seemed to like people and wouldn't scratch or bite but he was still not comfortable with anyone holding him.

I'm sure there have been people who have had excellent pet rabbits. I'm just not one of them.

Well rabbits make very good pets, that is once they're tamed of course. They're inexpensive and it takes very little to maintain them but the initial cost of a rabbit hutch, and the essentials to get ur bunny started can easily cost over $200 depending on where u buy the hutch from, wen i first got my bunny everything i needed to get her started was round $250 but depending wat age u get ur rabbit u'll have to get them vaccinated and regular check ups at the vet. Worming every three months is essential aswell.

I have been around rabbits my hole life! Rabbits dont like to be cooped up in a cage. We have a rabbit that we hade for a pet, but he got out and he has been hanging around our house for like 6 months just finding his own food and water, and he loves it! If you get a rabbit look for the tamest one, and its better to get a baby so as he gets older he will bond with you, And he will be your friend!!

Depends on the rabbit and his experience with humans. A hamster or guinea pig would make a better pet.

yes i use to have a rabbit when i was a kid.
it needs a large mesh cage with a covered front or a box for shelter, use to put it outside in the summer and kept it indoors in a basement in the winter time.
the don't do very much, but they can stink.
that's why it was okay in to basement, the laudry room, where it has company and a family atmosphere.
