I always viewed people that had commit suicide as weak, selfish individuals. After my brother killed himself, my mother told me that a lot of people consider it cowardly, but it really takes a great amount of courage to do something like that. I never really looked at it from that point of view, so that really was a life lesson for me. She also taught me never to be afraid of the dead, but to be afraid of the living.
