I uninstalled Norton security Suite on my father's laptop since the 90 day subscritption expired. I replaced it with aVG Free Anti Virus version 7.5

The person who recommended AntiVir is also recomending a good AV. Another popular one is Avast.

Remember, if you uninstal Mcafee, make sure you find the correct methods of uninstalling that program. Some AV's like that don't uninstall easy. good luck

Forget McAfee, it's a rip-off!

Here is a wonderful FREE anti-virus program that automatically updates:

EDIT: make sure to uninstall McAfee and remove all components, or else it will keep popping up for you to "renew" the subscription.

Nope.

Dell said very specifically when you first activated it that it's good for 6 months or however long you got it for. Any continued use cost $$$.

There are free alternatives out there. It's just NOT MacAfee.

We had the same thing. Once the free 30 day trial is up, you have to PAYfor the services, I haven't found another way to get it for free, guess if we want it we have to pay for it!!
