Yes! Let's take names and kick butt!!!
I am SO sick of hip-hop, rap, and the exploitation mill that crafts their videos, creates their clothing styles, and promotes the images of 'thugs' 'pimps' 'bitches' 'hos' and all the rest of that nonsense.
I feel they should all be sued for slandering my good image; I used to go abroad and people would point at me and say "Oprah!" and now, strange men will literally walk up to me and talk worse than Imus!
I hope Richard Simmons and the whole crowd dies bankrupt, friendless, and miserable!!!

You must remember whenever Al Sharpton can step up to the mike He will always go for it. Part of the domination of the majority by the minority is putting a muzzle on us. Since the Media is always out to kiss the NAACP's butt any nut case can get instant camera coverage to attack whitey. One of these days people will wise up and stop the Media's favoritism. What was said was wrong but not worthy of a long career being killed. I do not care for Imus but feel He is just the target of the day.

I see your point in the double standard. Ultimately the free market will determine if Imus continues with his show. Not coincidentally, it's the free market that allows rappers to degrade women and profit from that. Imus' audience is a bit more sophisticated than the teenagers who listen to rap music and the media reaction to his comments reflect that.

It IS exactly the same thing. Although, I don't think censorship is the way to fix things. I am not about to give up freedom of speech, just so everyone can pretend to have their little utopia. Imus used his freedom of speech...it may have been some distasteful comments, but they were his to make. Don't forget that you, too, have freedom of speech, or that all those who want to see Imus fired also have the right to speak freely.
Everyone should have the freedom to speak as they wish, equally.

because Imus offended a lot of people
Yes rappers say the same thing
but rappers are not directing the comments to a few select people
If you were to say something at your place of employment like that you would be fired in a heart beat

The rappers were not talking to that basketball team specifically. They were talking to the women in their lives that they deal with. Don Imus specifically was talking to the women on that B-ball team!
So if we clean the house correctly, what rappers or rap groups are you referring too, that called that b-ball team or other women nappy headed Ho's!

Yup! But he is a white man so they are taking the opportunity to get some publicity. (the basketball team, jesse jackson, al sharpton...) If you are black, it's ok to say things like that about your own race, though. (I guess) Like you said, it's a race thing...
