The answer is D.
Check (Proof)
(x + 13)2 = (x + 13)(x + 13) now distribute that is multiply
=x*x + x*13 + 13*x + 13*13 now combine like terms
= x2 + 26x + 169. Which matches the orignial

you don't even have to perform any calculations for this one.
when factoring, you know that "2" can't go into "169" (because 169 is not an even number). This idea eliminates b, c, and d.
the only possible answer is a. (x+13)(x-13)
and you can check your answer by distributing out using the FOIL Method: First Outter Inner Last.
By doing so, you come back to the original problem: x^2+26x+169

not one of the above... considering the fact that there are pluses everywhere, you possibly have pluses in the two components if there are 2 components. enable's initiate with the hassle-free deduction, that it is (x+a) squared. If it exchange into, then a squared may well be 169 and 2a may well be 26. in actuality that works completely, considering the fact that 13 squared is 169. so it fairly is (x+13)(x+13)
