What he said was both racially and sexually charged. His punishment is his employers to hand out and the reaction by there listeners will be there reason.

I think that what Imus said was wrong. I think he should apologize and he did.
However....
Calling for his dimissal is over the top. Did anyone call for cancelling Bill Mahr when he regretted the failure of the assassination of Dick Cheney?
It seems that freedom of speech is only allowed when it's directed negatively at the Bush administration or America in general.

Apparently Imus was wrong, judging by popular opinion. I don't think he should be punished, because what he said is protected speech, FCC regulations or not.

I think that he shouldn't have said it, but everyone is overreacting. Esspecially because the producer is the one who first called them h**s and no one's calling for him to be punished. Is what they said any different than any other "funny" person on the radio?

wrong in a sense because the women basketball players are private citizens
however...
last time I checked we still had the right of free speech in this country - you have no right not to be offended (sorry for the double negative)

But why is it okay to say what HE said if you are a person "Of Color"??? Isn't this a double standard?
P.C. talking, yes, he was wrong, but why is it okay for some to say, but not for others???

he is a racist, and that is bad and all, but what is the purpose of having the first amendment if you can lose your job for using it?
the constitution is under attack. this is just another example of that.
