none of the words he used were specifically racial - offensive but not racial - if you think they were racist the problem is in your head, not in his words!

The situation with Imus is rediculous. Imus has said many things for a long time, that is why he has gotten to where he is now. Like Howard Stern Imus is convtraversial and finally someone got offended and went and cryed. And as you can see the two men who lead this attack back at Imus (rev. jessie jackson, and Al Sharpton) are doing what they do best...throwing gas on the fire and then running away from the real issue. Imus is a jerk..maybe racist but who isnt a little bit?

As far as im concerned people just need to lighten up. I was watching the news today and noticed a very strange trend. All of the people that were out actively condemning what Imus said fit in to two very distinct categories. They were either political "black leaders" such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson whom I believe dont really have the voice of the African American community, they just happen to have the resources to get on their platform and scream the loudest for their own personal gain. Or they were super left wing white people who were desperately trying to show the world how "loving and non-racist" they are (like the guy from the anti-defamation league who spent his entire interview defaming Imus...hypocrite anyone?). I dont think that what Imus said was really that big of a deal and now everyone is going to try to play the racist card and say how insensative I am... People just need to get over it.

He is a shock jock. Everyone knows that. If people don't like his show... they should turn him off ! He talks that way about everyone. I'll bet Sharpton doesn't go nuts when Imus downs whites, or when colored rappers use vile sexist language in their music ! He needs a job, just like Jesse. Also, the Rutgers team is supposed to be tough girls....they sounded like real wooses on tv. Imus' words didn't kill anyone. Whites hear worse than that, and we aren't crying around. ...Publicity is what it is about, and of course a big pay off for a few nasty words. Sharpton and Jackson are making white people dislike them more and they aren't doing anything to help improve their own people. They want to punish the whites, but want forgivness for their own sins.

hi.
wake up kids!
what was said was wrong no matter who said it Imus or Jackson. It was wrong. Do you know what was said or are you just talking. Come think about it, as for what was said about the girls being nappy headed ___. Even their team mates were upset behind that did you not see the press conference, the white girls got up and spoke on it. His statement took away from what the group of girls had accomplished. It took away from there glory, there victory, making it almost nothing because he chose to shock the team.WOW aren't you proud of that.

i don't understand if Imus is a racist or not. i've got confidence he's impolite, crude and uncivil. whilst i replaced into little, "Sticks and stones would smash my bones yet words won't in any respect harm me," replaced into worry-unfastened to hearken to. i've got confidence words have potential, yet only the potential given them. His employment is the only discretion of his company. i don't care if he has a job or not. What bothers me is the vehemence that's released whilst somebody says something that "offends" somebody. there's no regulation against somebody offending yet another, nor could there be. in case you doubt it, examine 1984. as lengthy as what's declared does not incite violence against yet another then the 1st replace applies: Congress shall make no regulation respecting an corporation of religion, or prohibiting the unfastened exercising thereof; or abridging the liberty of speech, or of the click; or the terrific of the folk peaceably to collect, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. apart from, to engender a "sufferer mentality" of those indignant does not help concerns as an entire. i'm heavily afflicted via the "scarred for existence," assertion from between the bb-group. one in all those assertion lends potential to his words. i might have somewhat she stated, "I refuse to permit a guy whose speaks from lack of expertise and thoughtlessness to bog down my existence in any way in any respect!" Race kin in this u . s . a . at the instant are not aided via the likes of Al or Jessie. continually laying blame and insults is counterproductive. here returned all of it comes right down to a count of private decision. i'm going with to not hear to denigrating rap music (some i admire) nor do I hear to those of the ilk of Imus, or Stearns. Peace on earth!

It's called nit picking....there are hundreds of radio personalities that say off the cuff things and are not brought to the attention of the world..he is a well known radio personality.
If saying these things are offensive then they should be going after everyone..regardless of race or entertainment role.

Imus is not the culprit here its M.S.N.B.C....

Imus is a hero and should sue M.S.N.B.C and the b. basketball team for making a big macroni deal.

I think it's strange how a white man can't say certain things regarding race but a black person can use the same terms and no one says anything to them! Double standard if you ask me!!!

I totally agree! Now if he had said nappy headed Ni**er hoes, then they could whine all they wanted. That would be kinda racist.

Maybe he should go to rehab? It seems to have worked for that Richards guy. Oh yeah, and the black "bigot" from Grey's Anatomy who called that gay guy "GAY"!! Oh the HUMANITY!
