It says more about them than it says about me. Truth should never get to you. If its true and you don't like it, change it. If it ain't true, let them think its true. You've just gotten more informatiopn than you gave. And, why are you giving therm power over your life and person?

It depends if there is a duty there to act on that cruelty.
Some time you have to be cruel to be kind in the right measure.
Turning the other cheek only helps if the in doing so you do not make the other person a worse individual, or you for that matter. You may become accepting of bad behavior when you ought to be teaching others that somethings are worth fighting for.
I take it on a case by case basis.
