I don't know what to reply with. I have been reading articles all day that say you should keep it professional, and leave out all personal stuff.

But this thing is, I don't really have a professional background. I've only had one other job, and it was a independent contractor/work from home type thing.

I'm a very reclusive person. I just turned 21, and i'm a bit ashamed to say that i've never had an actual job. the one i'm going for on friday is at a grocery store. Stocking/ parcel pick up i'm hoping.

So how should I answer the "tell me about yourself?" question when I go in for my interview?

Here's a dialogue I've used in the past with TREMENDOUS SUCCESS!

THEM: So, tell me about yourself...

YOU: Thanks for asking, is it ok if I ask you a couple quick questions so I can best answer that?

Them: (Startled, with eyes wide open because NOBODY dares to ask the employer questions this early in the game) Sure.

You: I'm pretty much a TEAM PLAYER. What kind of person do you need THE MOST, and I'll tell you how I might be able to fit in.

From my own experience, great places to work for, (and great bosses) will INSTANTLY appreciate you, and want you aboard for showing LEADERSHIP.

Congratulations, you just took control of the whold interview process! Dialogue with these people, and see if YOU really want to work there.

Good Luck!

This is the first and the most commonly asked question in interviews.
To answer start with the details of your school record, college record and your personal interests. Always talk about your positives and your highs.
U can use the phrases like " i'm a consistent performer "
Or one's like " i love challenges", " i represented my school/college", "i'm a good team man" etc..
This way describe yourself in two mins.

Dude that is so easy unless you don't know absolutely anything about yourself. Just tell them about your personality, what you like to do, your hobbies, where you hang out. Just don't tell them anything embarrassing. You can act professional and also talk about your personal interests at the same time.
