It's happened within the past 15 minutes. It has almost swollen shut. I just rubbed my eye (like I do every night...) and about 5-10 minutes later, my eye is hurting, and I can't see out of it. I checked to see if it was an eyelash or something, but I can find anything. I also flushed my eye with some eye drops and it didn't do anything at all. Could someone please help me, or am I just over- reacting?

It's very likely an allergy to something. either pollen, dust, or dander on your hand that was transferred to your eye. Try taking Benedryl or Claratin. That should help. Also, take a cool washcloth and dab your eye with it, or splash cool water on your face.

Last week i was in church, and i keep rubbing my eye and when i woke up the next day it was all pink and swollen, I went to the doctor and he told me i had an affection in the eye and it probably came for the pollen or something that i hand on my hand and did not know it. i used the drops and in about three day i was OK. It could be a spider bite, beleive me I know your thinking you'd feel it if you had a spider on your face but if it was small and quick which most are then it can happen. It happened to me and it was swollen for about three to four hours and then it started going away, if it dosen't get better by morning go to the doctor.

I don't know what to say other than what's already been said, except that an infusion of maple tree bark can be used to soothe sore eyes. Probably of no help, haha.

Also, when you rubbed your eye, did you have anything on your hands? A new lotion or spices or anything?
