They mostly lack spark, origionality and talent for the most part with an occasional spurt of suprise.
Many R&B lately have been good and some pop but as far as Rap, it has really gone down hill. They think that they can reapeat a phrase over and over again and then spit a few lines that have nothing to do with any of the others just because they have a similar sound.
Some Rock bands have put out some really good new sounds showing origionality and creativity.

Rock! Not heavy metal...just plain ol' rock 'n roll. Aerosmith, Zepplin, Lenny Kravitz, Beach Boys (believe it or not, they're rock) KISS, Poison, AC/DC, Tom Petty, John Cougar Melancamp, not to mention The Rolling Stones !!!
