Well, from the financial planning point of view, it differs.
Let's say now, 30's, you have a job now and will work will retirement at 60's. Annual income is $36,000 with annual increament at 3% per annum.
Through out these 30 years, you have the power of earning income, with total sum of $ 1,712,714.97
$ 1,712,714.97 is the minumum you worth, because if you save a side and do investment wisely every month or year, for sure you worth more than that.
Make yourself worth more.....Start Living!

What am I worth on paper? $300K or so (Canadian) I guess considering my home, assets.
What am I worth emotionally to myself, my family & friends? Immeasurable. I have an affect on the world, particularly those that know me. They would not be the same if I were not around.
Each of us is valuable in our own way. Each of us has a place in the world. Our very existence affects others. We are all important. Many people don't recognize their own worth and so they don't show respect to themselves and destroy themselves in many ways. You must recognize your own worth to be happy in life. There are people worth millions of dollars who don't love themselves & still feel worthless. All the money in the world can't buy happiness if you don't love yourself. You'll just buy too many pricey toys & end up crashing your porsche or dying of an overdose or something. If you hate yourself, money just gives you more money to get into trouble.

A lot. I mean, gosh, so much! Like, all the stars in the sky, all the grains of sand, everything in the universe that total amount we are worth. Actually we are worth more than that... hmmm, well, just look in the mirror and you'll see what I mean :) Absolutely priceless.

Worth to whom? Value is relative. I'm worth quite a bit to myself, though I don't know if I could put a concrete value on it. I could think of a few people to whom I'm worth a lot less.

My net worth is quite negative thanks to student loans, but that's merely money.
I have many passions, many interests, and a lot to offer this world. Like Renaissance men before me, I am an artist, a philosopher, and a writer. Somehow or another I will leave a fairly impressive legacy before I leave.

I give all my love and care to my wife, parents and friends to make them happy, that is worth a lot more than money. I do my duty so that i am worth for my company for them to earn through me.
Apart from these...
I am worth for my self - i do a lot to make myself happy.
So.., my worth can not be defined by anybody.

My worth to myself is measured by my own happiness multiplied by time. My worth to you is how much your happiness increases by my existence multiplied by time. My worth to society is the net increase of happiness that I give to all the members of society multiplied by time.
worth = happiness * time
Please note that the time is measured based on the time that I cause happiness, NOT the time of my life. It's very possible that I am far more valuable to society after my death than during my life.

A person's value can be determined by their heart's desire. Valuable people seek after things of value. Worthless people seek after worthless things. The key is to know what is truly of value.
