I am about to go to college and wish to attend medical school afterwards. Should i go to a public college and then go to a prestigious private medical school in order to avoid a large debt?

nope, instead do the opposite. Go to a highly ranked private university to give you the leverage you need for acceptance into medical school and then go to whichever medschool you get into. When the time comes for medical school you will not need to be too concerned about financial matters since you will be able to compensate for them fully when you become a doctor. A bachelor's degree from a private institution will get you into medical school anywhere really. good luck!

A tip about med school. You can go to any type of school in the US and get a degree. Then after you achieve that, you can get a medical degree in Cuba for free. Serious. We were talking about it in my Cuban American Lit class. Look into it, it's a really good deal. I don't want to go into medicine myself, but I recomend it to everyone I know who is planning on going into it.

Good luck

My son, is entering his 4th year of Medical School... we reviewed this very question 4 years ago... He had a choice of three schools... and chose Uniformed Services... this is the Military Medical School... instead of coming out with debt, they pay for your schooling, pay you while you go to school, it's a fantastic education, and you give one year for each year of school... I strongly suggest you at least look into this...
