believe it or not they go to sleep or die. A few fly species only live for 2 hours. Some can live for a while longer than that. but they do have a dormant period at night since most of their sight depends on light they cant see so they rest or "sleep" who knows if they are actually dreaming or really sleeping like what you and I would call it.
