Start with the first line and memorize that. Do it over and over. Each time you think you have a line down, try memorizing the next line, but repeat the lines you do know before repeating the new line.
Little by little, you will progress by gaining a new line each round of memorization that you do. Before long, you will have learned the whole thing.

Go over it and over it word by word, line by line. It's been proven that if you go over it right before bed and as soon as you wake up, the information is better retained in the brain. Also, recording a tape of the lines to memorize and listening to it while falling asleep also would increase retention. Good luck!

Cheating is stupid and you will be found out. I have found that if you associate each line with a visual image it can make it easier to memorize. Or, think about what the story is actually saying. Overall, memorizing takes time so good luck with this.

I would try to find the most famous part of the play, you know, words/quotes that everyone knows. That way you will automatically remember some of it. Then add the rest of the lines related to those famous lines. Read it aloud and silently. Have someone check you as you read, repeat, and recite your lines. You may even write the lines down. That sometimes helps me. Break a leg!

Try watching the movie..it's modern but a lot of the words are the same...see if they match up with your book and then watch the seen over and over as well as read the lines along with it.
The visual of the characters saying the lines should help out a lot.
Good Luck!

Take it one step at a time. Memorize the first line and read it over and over again. Then add the second line and read them both over and over again.

say one line like 5 times or so then do it without the paper 2 or 3 times and then say the next line a couple of time and then recite both lines without the script and continue doing that with every line....this will take time but i think it will work

I always learned best by writing. If I had to memorize something, I would get it much , much faster if I wrote it out over and over. Even if you type it on your computer, you'll start to "see" yourself writing out the words and you'll be able to remember them. It really does work! Good luck!
