Is there anything we can do to stop the corporations from electing the president and then running the country?

I don't know the answer but what a great question!!! I took a World Regional Geography course last semester at my university and was shocked at things like this. Not only do they choose the president and run our country, but third world nations all over the globe!!! Its really sad what we do to stay on top. It makes me ashamed to be American. Over 1/2 of the World population lives on $1 or less a day while we are obsessed w/ celebrities and material things and broadcasting "who's Anna Nicole's babys daddy?" and "where is Brittany Spears shopping today?" on the news. Americans need to get with it and change this bullshit!

Simple answer, campaign finance reform.

No candidate can spend more money than any other candidate in any given race. Thus the money factor is eliminated and the message and ideals become important. The incentive for major corporate donations is eliminated knowing that it gives no monetary advantages.

Elect people who want to reform campaign financing. Write your current Representatives in DC and let them know you think campaign financing reform is urgently needed.
