I'm supposed to take Yaz at 9:30 every night, and some nights I haven't taken it until midnight. How risky is this?

Thanks!

I take mine a few hours late and a few hours early sometimes. If you are sexually active it's important to take them at the same time each day.

Seraphim gave a great answer for you, but I just wanted to point out to anyone else out there who might be following this thread: Different pills work differently. Some are a lot more forgiving than others. In general, the very low estrogen and progesterone-only pills need to be taken pretty much the same time every day. (Although the situation that you described still sounds like it would be safe for most women, most of the time. A time difference of 2 and a half hours isn't much.) One other thought... if this is a very regular occurrence, maybe it might make sense for you to move your 'regular time' a couple of hours later in the day?

It should be okay. I have often went over my time before on taking the pill by several hours and never had a problem. It's always best to take it at the exact same time, but as long as you take it at least within a few hours from the usual time, it should be fine.

just don't do it again. always take it at 9:30.
wear a watch and set an alarm on it.

usually birth control have about a "2 hour window" of time that its ok, but it will work a lot better if you take it at the exact same time every day

Yasmin is a combined oral contraceptive pill, which means that you can take it up to 12 hours late before you have to consider it a missed pill. You're fine.

I take mine at noon every day, so that if I forget to take it, I'm awake for the next twelve hours to remember it. If you forgot to take yours at 9.30 and went to sleep, you would be getting close to 12 hours before you woke up and remembered to take it.
