If I knew the same dogs had attacked people and killed pets on more than one occasion, either animal control would need to be there right away or I'd be taking care of it myself. That may sound cruel, but its the whoever decided it was ok to dump these dogs on the streets you should be mad at. It could be your child on the way home from school who is attacked.
I have lured several non-aggressive dogs into my fenced in area until I could locate the owners. I don't see how you could do that safely with these dogs. Maybe if you somehow got them all into a garage with food and then used a remote to shut it. I would say you probably have to wait which blows me away. After this is taken care of, find someone to pitch a fit to.

First of all, how old are the neighbors who called animal control? If they are elderly, or even just an older couple, they honestly may not know, or you could be very right in that they may feel spiteful that you were able to buy a house right next to them so young. I'm not saying that this is definitely the case, but we've all had the, "Dang, that highschool kid doesn't deserve that fifty-thousand dollar car, when I'm struggling to make payments on my 1987 station wagon..." thoughts occaisonally. I would definitely confront your neighbors. They are stand-offish, you said, so maybe they really are clueless. Doubtful, but possible. You may also want to contact animal control yourself and inform them of the situation. The neighbors are saying its an abandoned house, and that you just drop your dog off there whenever, which is obviously either a misunderstanding, or (and hopefully not) point-blank meaness. Also, if you talk to them, and explain that it is your house, they may no longer use the excuse that it is abandoned and you just "drop your dog off" there. They will have no rhyme or reason to call animal control, and if they do, you've ruled out misunderstanding, and can assume it's just meaness. As far as not having to pay the fee to get the dog out... I don't know where you live, but it's near impossible around here to get a pet out without that fee, no matter how good your explanation, so all I can say is to explain to them what you just explained to us, and hopefully they will work with you and help the situation, rather than hinder it.

Do not approach these animals yourself! Keep calling someone and explain that the situation needs to be remedied NOW! Tell them a person has been attacked, if necessary, call 911 for an ambulance and police and report the incident that way. Contact your neighbors and make sure they know to keep all pets and children indoors at all times.
PLEASE don't try to do anything to the dogs! You'll only risk getting hurt yourself, and you have no idea what diseases they might have.

are they the same dogs all the time, I would track the dogs back to the owner, and turn the address over to the animal control people, you just can't trust loose strange dogs they are dangerous, sometimes it is necessary to help the police so they can bring the charges against the owner, those dogs live somewhere, someone owns those dogs they have to be responsible for there dogs actions. Good Luck be with you, going the literal extra mile is sometimes hard

Oh, please don't try to harness or subdue these wild dogs,
they are dangerous and mean....obviously they are killers!
Who are you trying to keep the dogs from? The people in your neighborhood?
I'd just inform all the neighbors that animal control will be out there tomorrow, they will all feel better and more hopefull if they have that information, but also tell them all to keep their pets inside and their doors locked too....no letting of pets out alone even for a 'quick' minute!
Be Safe!

you should probably find a good friend with good marksmanship skills to handle these using a wonderful invention called a firearm. THese dogs have already proven themselves unsafe and dangerous to humans and pets. even if animal control gets them the chances of them being found fit for adoption is super slim.

i would not try to do that. if they have attacked a person and
a pet then why would you want to put your life in danger.
wait until animal control gets there. try and let your
neighbors know about them and if you have a pet keep
him in until animal control gets there. i had a pack of dogs
chase me and my puppy once and i just made it into a
neighbors house. i circled for hours and then they left. i had
to carry my puppy home and then if he had to go out
i went out in the backyard which was fenced with him and
took him right back in when he was done. please don't
try and handle this yourself its dangerous.

Put out some dog food, carefully. Make loud noises to scare them away maybe. Try calling an animal shelter.

I don't know exactly what you want to do.
Can you lure them into an enclosed area with food, and hold them there?
If you just want to keep them at bay, there are some things to keep in mind.
You don't want to look like you are afraid, but you don't want to challenge them, either.
Don't turn your back on them, but don't look directly at them either. You can back away from them if necessary.
Loud noises, such as an air horn, will startle them.
You could carry a long stick or a tool such as a broom or rake to ward them off with.

well first of all dont give them any food of any thign bc that will make them come back to your house.then if you have like a goose caller of like some kind of animal callor like turcky, deer, ggoose, that will scear them away, or even just putting kennles out side and like putting steaks in them and make some kind of trap to close the kennle door if the dogs are in the cage, and when if shuts, call they apl and they will come and get the m or even do this call the animal cops, and they will come and rescu them.
