I would also appreciate answer from people who do tailgate. Do you think it makes people drive faster?

Well it only pisses me off when people tail gate. I usually slow down, hoping to piss them off too. LOL

I can only tell you that I once used that excuse to the judge to get out of a speeding ticket. I told the judge that I was trying to get out of the way of a "big" vehicle, and I was only in a little Honda. The judge told me that next time I should just pull over and let the guy pass me. Of course, that wasn't why I was speeding, but the judge did give me a break. But to answer your question for real, yes, I tend to drive faster when I'm being tailgated, until I get mad, then I slow way down.

i will follow closely behind people who go way below the speed limit when they clearly dont need to. most of the time they pull to the side to let me pass if its a single lane or if its more than one lane i just overtake them. if you're in front of me and you're doing the speed limit, that's fine because i'll drive the appropriate speed too. but if im the one being tailgated when im driving the legal speed limit or even a little bit above that then i will take my foot off the gas and piss that person off. if its a two lane street and there's a car next to me while im being tailgated, i'll even box that person in for being an idiot. i hate it when people follow too closely behind me when im driving a normal speed! it drives me insane so i try to drive the tailgater insane too. people who are in a rush or just want to drive a crazy speed should at least take other drivers into consideration too.

When I'm being tailgated sometimes I'll speed up but usually I like to slow down to piss the tailgater off.

I drive faster, and then move to a lane away from the tailgater, i let them pass..

I used to, then I started slowing down and a trucker tried to run me off the road. So now I turn on my windshield wipers and let the fluid fly all over their car too. I get special satisfaction from doing this to pimped up Hondas.

I figure if they want to be up my *** I'd better give them a good close look, so I like to take my foot off the gas and let them get closer.

If they are in a rush to kill themselves then go around me.
