I'm afraid of what I don't see. In horror movies, I *HATE* seeing the Scary Thing (henceforth known as "ST"). The fastest way to turn me off and have me MST3King something is to show me the ST. One of the most horrifying books I ever read never actually described the ST, but rather had the protagonist running from nothing, just an amorphous understanding of a manifestation of pure evil. I had to read it in fits and spurts, because I'd scare myself silly. For me to really get into something, I need to be able to put myself into the story mentally, and as I have yet to run into too many vampires, werewolves, or zombies, I can clearly understand the fear of hearing something, but not seeing it. Any kid who moved into a new house at an impressionable age knows what I mean. Those new squeaks outside your bedroom door.....man, those are tough.
So, in the spirit of your question, I'm going with #7. Creaking floors and slamming doors always send my pulse into warp speed.

Spiders are my top choice on your list. They really terrify me, and I don't know why. And if you lock me in a dark room and tell me that spiders are crawling on the ceiling, I would simply pass out dead. Just writing this has made my stomach hurt and chills to run down my spine...

It just makes me think about how much our behavior is really tied to things we don't really have a lot of control over, or even understanding of. Also makes me wonder what exactly is causing this country to get dumber (liberal, conservative, or moderate, I think we can all agree on that much). I mean, its complicated enough if the problem has to do with educational methods, or TV, or cultural tendencies that discourage the development of critical thinking skills, but what if it's something more esoteric, like the relative ease of obtaining food, or say curbside garbage pick-up?

My BIGGEST fears are more like "my children dying", "being in a vegetative state", or "being paralyzed." Those fears seem so much more real and SCARY than the ones you have posted. I guess if I would encounter one of the things you have mentioned, Being alone or Demons would be the most scary.

Nope none of thoses. The two things I hate the most are snakes and planes. That snake on a plane movie was a double threat. That's just crazy stuff.
If I had to pick one of your's it might be 2
people or things crawling on walls might get crazy.

For me one of the most frightening things would have to be out-living all of my family and friends - therefore actually be totally alone in a full populated world.
My other fears are being blind, being paralyzed, being unable to take care of myself and having to rely on someone else even for my most basic needs (just as help to the bathroom), bathing myself, etc.
Have a lovely rest of the evening.

2. People (or things) crawling on the ceiling. I would know someone had spiked my drink to be seeing that (I don't do drugs). Psychopaths (like those who might spike drinks for ulterior motives) are my absolute fear as it really could happen (still extremely wigged by "Saw")

I'd pick people or things crawling on the ceiling. You could add snakes and/or worms.
