This summer I really want to build up a good tan. But the problem is that I dont live near a beach. Would it be wierd for me to lay out on my back pourch and tan? Or should I just go to an indoor tanning place?

NO...what's weird is for a guy to go to a "tanning saloon". Natural sun and a natural tan...and it is FREE! Always a plus in my book.
When I was in Iraq, prior to coming back to the US for a vacation...I would lay out on the deck of my trailer. Weird? Maybe but the nearest beach was nearly 1000 miles aways over roads laced with IED's. I'll take weird.
Now go get tan

I'm a guy and see no problem laying out on the back porch or backyard and getting a tan. Also, mowing the lawn, washing the truck, etc. are good ways to get a tan as you're doing something too. Of course, I do this myself, so that sways my feelings on this subject.
I think natural sunlight is much better for us than artificial tanning lights.

I don't feel comfortable going to a tanning salon. If you don't feel right comfortable tanning outside, try an indoor building. I wouldn't say its weird - who says women are the only ones who can tan?
Just go out on your porch and ignore all the other b*st*rds.

I don't think most folks would think it's weird, but you could take up gardening in your shorts if you're really concerned about what people think. Then no one has to know what you're doing.
If you do get involved in tanning it's best to do it before 10 or after 2 to minimize damaging rays that can cause skin cancers and wrinkles.

The sun makes you feel better of the tan build up your self confidence so why not enjoy the sun and make it in the best way? Stand up for who you are don't care about what others think you are responsible for your own best as long as it don't hurt any one else.

Do it...it's free , better for you and you'll look great ! A tip...it gets really hot out there...so I always make sure I have a water hose near....if I get too hot I just spray down and it's good for another 10 minutes or so...no reason to suffer to look good. Also take some music out there and a nice cool drink.

It most definitely is not weird.. I'm a guy and I love to tan.. I don't want to be pale.. We have skin also. In the summer, I lay in my yard and tan my ***!!!

its not the most manly of things to do, you could always play a sport, go running or soemthing like that to get a tan, but oiling yourself up and basking in the sun(dont even think about a tanning booth) is kinda for the lassies bud.

It's not wierd to do it outside, if you go to an indoor tanning salon, that's strange.
