It might help if you didn't label these people as "insecure women-haters" (even if that's what they are or appear to be).

Labelling people covers up the essential PERSON under the label and gives you a reason to stop looking at the person.

I would suggest 2 alternatives;

1. Ignore them. They're looking for a fight. YOU determine if they get one. Recognize your power to refuse to engage them. If nobody will answer them, they'll get tired of the game quickly and go somewhere else.

2. Talk TO the person, not AT the label. Ask them why they feel what they feel, and keep asking "why" for 4 or 5 levels. At that point, they'll be telling you their deepeset concerns and a real dialogue can begin.

These people aren't all misanthropes - some of them are just confused. With a little investment of time, you might turn them into friends.

It the same reason why man-haters or anyone else pick fights with other groups. They're called Curmudgeons, which means, "An ill-tempered person full of resentment and stubborn notions" Or you can call them "grouch, crank, bear, sourpuss, crosspatch, etc"

They try to bring you down in order to feel better about themselves, and to further feel more satisfied with their own beliefs. Usually they do so by calling what they say to you, "facts", when they usually have no real evidence to back their claims. To hide their lack of expertise, they'll even put on a dramatic show with attempts to futher bring you down by putting on the illusion that they know what their talking about. They do so by, for example, citing website links to statistics data, etc, that they feel is credible, and claim it proves what they say is true regardless to how delusive the sources actually are. And when you either prove them wrong, or bring up points that they cannot argue against, they either resort to name calling, or simply dissappear until their next irrupt.

ok, I starred you :) I shudder to imagine of the "in the different case". 0's female has a level: no matter if you wish anime or no longer, that's an argument of deepest determination. i do not hate anime-haters, I do exactly not believe them and imagine they're incorrect. yet i do not search for them out and shove anime down their throats. They in turn, imagine we are incorrect. we adore what we adore and that is that. i imagine the position complications commence to get up is at the same time as someone solutions an anime question like "I hate anime. Anime if for geeks etc, etc, etc, yada, yada, yada. some anime haters comprehend this bristles us and do it besides. Then we commence arguing among one yet another and that is not any longer sturdy. "healthy discussions" are sturdy. Even arguing is nice because it receives us speaking. in spite of the indisputable fact that that is at the same time as human beings always shove their beliefs down the throats of others is at the same time as it isn't sturdy and this fosters ill will.

.............because they are insecure. I don't think they all really hate women but I do believe that a large percentage of them have very little socialization with females other than the internet. In real life they probably don't get the time of day from women. On the internet they are able to gather attention and since they are not overly charming or intelligent the best they can do is achieve negative attention which as many psychologists will tell you is better than feeling ignored.
I actually feel sorry for them. Read Baba's Web Bull profile and you will understand what a sad little existence they really endure.

so they can hide behind the anonymity of the internet. In real life, they are not vocal, hence they put all of their energy on the internet trying to get attention. I can bet that most of these trolls do not have girlfriends or female friends, otherwise they wouldnt' say the kind of things they say about women. We should feel sorry for them actually.

Because they like to practice sour grapes? I think it is immaturity. But sour grapes works both ways. It has personally amazed/disappointed me that creating hate where none should exist is a frequent tool for a breach. This is in my recent experience. It makes NO sense to 'create' more intolerance.

They never learned to deal with whatever problems they have had with women, and have decided to take it out on the entire gender.

It probably goes both ways. One must look upon their intent, their motivations and understand why people do what they do.
Have you understood what they were trying to bring across to others ?? Maybe they were trying to prove a point ?? Or was it just a juvenile way to start a pointless fight to vent their hate and anger?? All things are subject to interpretation, and sometimes it is difficult to judge something as what it appears to be.
