He was pretty freaky back in the day and made some good songs, along with some bad ones, met a lot of music legends in his time, and opened the door for lots of later artists.
That said, is he as cool as he thinks he is? I think he's about 50% cool and 50% full of himself.

I think he was a pioneer for the metal show extravaganza thing b/c footage of his stage shows are entertaining but his music sort of sucks. I think without the stage show he would never had gotten that far and his stage shows are an inspiration to people like Marylin Manson
