To me that seems like a bigger percentage than I thought. I feel like the minority since I am part of the 23% who has yet to go down that road(I am also 20). Do teenagers have too much free time on their hands or is just sex taken more lightly now?

It depends I think on social and home life...did you manage to find statistics on the type of educational background that those people had? And where the study was done or poll taken? Those are big factors on what the numbers show and I bet if you look a little more you will be able to find equally reputable studies each giving you way different figures on that subject. I'm 20 and I have yet to either. By my account and what I see in my line of work I'd say 65% and that 12% really does make a difference.

I'd believe that...
Young people nowadays feel like just because they CAN have sex, they should. Girls with low self-esteem have sex to feel "liked" by the opposite sex. Boys I assume are just being boys.
Sex IS taken way too lightly these days, and I find that very sad.

people don't think sex is that big of a deal anymore.
back in the day, people were more religious so they would wait until marriage.
religion is loosing its popularity and the sex rate is goin up!
