The poor kid does his thing the best he can and yet everyone hates him for it. Its the people in America that’s keeping him there. So why are so many blaming him instead of the people voting (or themselves)? He is just a kid, everyone needs to chill out.

eww. hes a ugly lil guy ill tell u that much.
FU-OOOOOOGLACIOSO...!!!!
sorry that was mean of me. but yea ur totally rite. hollywood is stressful as irt is. he already has to worry about if simon likes him, if he sings gud, n now he has to worry about all this "hater"age that ppl are doin...reelie hes tryin his hardest n despite that fact that i reelie dont like him, hes goin after his dreams and taking all the criticism blow by blow and even if i dont like him/his singing, he definitely has my RESPECT for that. guess which means more, and which ppl should definitely start giving him more of.
ps. i thought his name was sanjaya??? i could be wrong though.

Yes, it is sad. He isn't the worst singer in the world. he is only 17 it takes courage to keep performing in front of millions while everyone trashes you all of the time. I have heard him sing and he's okay. And I am tired of people saying if Sanjaya wins they will stop watching american idol because it is not supposed to be a popularity contest. but guess what it is, no matter what Paula, Randy or Simon say in the end the american idol is voted in by AMERICA. and lets face it the more popular you are the more votes you will get. its only entertainment

No way! How can you feel bad for the kid? He seems like he's quite smart! He's picked great songs, great looks - puts on excellent performances (minus the great vocals, granted). He's just a teenager -- but to get up on stage he's already got balls -- but to do what he's doing, he's got a couple of barrels between his legs! This kid has a future no matter what happens now. No pity for him.
And I sooo want to be a part of voting for someone who will screw with American Idol like this. How great is that?!? Wouldn't it be great if some little 17 year old indian boy who couldn't sing won American Idol? He'd really be my idol then!

i have never thought he was good enough to be on the show but at first i did feel bad for him like you i thought he is only 17 and what is going to happen when he finds out that he is just a big joke? but not now he has to know by now and he is playing it up and loving it not only that but he is cocky with the judges now and he thinks he is untouchable. so no i dont feel bad for him if i were in his shoes and i knew that i was a joke i would go on live and tell america to kiss my butt that i did my best and that i was not going to stick around to be made fun of any longer and i would quit and let someone who deserved it win.. really how can he sit there and smile when people like chris sliegh and gina go home??

I feel bad for him. But not because everyone hates him. I feel bad because he's only being voted for because he's the worst.
Howard Stern founded a site called Vote For The Worst dot com and the people who dislike American Idol are voting for Sanjaya because of it.

I don't feel bad for him. He will make a lot of money on the tour and have exposure. He's not disappearing after the show. There's so much interest in him, he'll be around for awhile.
He seems to be getting a kick out of all the attention. He seems to have a good sense of humor.

I was furious for the first few rounds, but now he kind of adds a certain spark to the show. I think he's a good entertainment factor. I think he has been a very good sport...next to Antonella, I think he's had it pretty rough this season. He really did amaze me this week with his performance. He's finally starting to grow on me....but Blake's gonna win!

We don't hate him for it. Its just that he is not good, and he knows he does not deserve to still be on the show. Simon quits if he wins. And if Simon quits.. thats the end of American Idol.

I agree with you, and I have to say, his smiling face every week, being actually pretty brave about it...he is starting to grow on me! And yesterday's song was pretty good! You have to admit, even if not performed greatly, he always picks really good songs to which I catch myself humming after the show!
