I don't think too many people would admit to being racist (or to being OTHER than honest, for that matter!). I certainly try NOT to hold any prejudicial views...- But I think we ALL are guilty of typecasting- at one time or another. Most people have trouble adjusting to differences in others... And until they get accustomed to them, the potential for racism is always there...

Let me premise my answer by saying just because I can admit that there are distinct differences in cultures does not make me a racist. It makes me a realist. America is a place where many different cultures live and try to co-exist. "Crash" brought those differences to the forefront but I don't necessarily think that makes me a racist. I have friends that tell me because I, a black woman, has the "Grease" soundtrack on my MP3 player that I am white. I also have Tim McGraw, The Charlie Daniels band and Kenny Rogers. So now I am really confused. What am I and why does it matter? I am a human being who wants to be accepted not for the color of my skin but rather the content of my character. Does that quote sound familiar to anyone? Until we get to the point of simply seeing people and not color we are all racists to a certain extent. It may not be blatant but it is there, I think in all of us.

You figure it out...
I don't think being a minority makes you noble, victimized or privileged over others, especially those others more qualified for the job. I don't care if you do call me a racist, homophobe, or misogynist. I don't owe you ****, and will not be intimidated by you! So shut up, get an education, get qualified for a job and start being productive. I've worked hard all my life for what I have and damn sure am not giving it up to any welfare freeloaders. I will call you human and treat you with respect until your actions prove you otherwise. I treat all humans this way no matter what race they happen to be, and expect the same in return. If you've got a job, support your family, and pay taxes, you're a contributing member of our society. If not, you're a detriment to that society, a total waste to your species, and the scum of the Earth. Don't expect me to treat scum as human. If the shoe fits, wear it, It's your problem, not mine. Deal with it!

It always seems like the people who protest most vehemently about racism usually turn out to be the biggest racists of all. No I'm not a racist I despise ignorance and hippocrisy in any colour.

Anyone who believes there are differences between races is a racist and there wouldn't be a word for race if there weren't differences so I must be. However, that certainly doesn't mean that trends should be extended to individuals; it is just plain stupid to base decisions such as hiring on trends since there is so much variance among individuals no matter what race.

I don't consider myself racist. My ethnic background is so mix matched, I wouldn't know whom to take sides with.
I do, however, hate (that's such a strong word) people who think they deserve more than they have earned. IE: reparations, affirmative action, amnesty, etc.
You "should" only reap what you sow. Otherwise it's called stealing.
