I do my best thinking while I am showering, vacuuming, or falling asleep. It makes me think that the creative thoughts were there all day, just waiting for the right moment to present themselves.
I also feel like my thinking has been "refreshed" after I've been inspired by a great book, poem, artwork, or movie. :)

When I'm alone in my bedroom. It is quiet and pretty in there. It's also fairly dark with the curtains closed. And when I'm in there no one disturbs me unless it's actually an emergency.

Actually, in the shower.
I am not concentrating on anything, so my best ideas come at that time.
