If its good bagpiping, it can make you cry because its touching. If its bad, it can make you cry...because it puts your aural senses on the threshold of pain.
Its an acquired taste...kind of like beer. Either you like it or you hate it. There isn't much middle ground here.

it has to be in your blood. the pipes are made to scare the hell out of the enemy . people who have Irish Scottish or English backgrounds have the pipes sound in them and know its the good sound while others cant stand it and hopefully run off.
