I'm a white guy, and I answered a question a minute ago about racism that got me wondering. I was raised to be rascist, I always believed I was racist, but I only seem to dislike men of other races. Ladies don't bother me, infact most of them can down right excite me. I say I don't like blacks and mexicans and stuff, but most of the ones I've actually met and talked to I like just fine. Also I was raised to think that homosexuals were evil, but yet the ones I've met seem to be ok, and Lord knows I love to see two girls gettin it on.
I feel kind of sad right now, like I've some how let my father down. What's happening to me? What am I?

You are meeting people and realizing that not all individuals are what the Klan told you they were. I think it is okay to be leery of other people, as long as you give everyone a fair chance, which it seems like you are doing. I have my own ideas about other races, some people live up to them and some don't, but I give them that chance, I think that is the difference.

Keep being your own person, and you may get respect although not agreement from your father. Or maybe disowned. Hope not :D.

are you being for real?? We all know that racism isnt a positive thing, nor discrimination...so how did you let your father down?? If anything you could say that you have broken free of all negativity and hatred that held you back from enjoying people from all walks of life...maybe you were a racist....in the past that is...now if you have a problem with only non white males, well maybe its a competition thing, or you feel intimidated...they get women equally if not more than white men, so maybe that bothers you...i dont know...Just be a happy, accepting person...and you will see that you enjoy life a lot more than someone being disgruntled all the time...then again..being disgruntled just for the sake of it (nothing discriminatory of course) is fun too....

You are a result of the society that we live in, our society is so focused on skin color. When we should be more focused on intelligence, personality and whether someone is a good person. I think everyone has a reason as to why they feel the way that they do. You are probably starting to realized the Blacks, Mexicans, homosexuals etc.. are just people like you who are slightly different. Skin color or sexual orientation doesn't determine whether someone is a good or bad person. It's about how they were raised and the things that they are witnessed.

i am sorry but you must have TERRIBLE parent anyone who raises there children racist should have there kids taken away. and you are only doing yourself a favor to get over your racism and other biases. eventualy you will have a boss who is black or mexican or a girlfriend who was adopted by gay people and it isnt going to help to be racist.

It sounds like you are growing into your own self. You shouldn't dislike black, mexicans, or homosexuals. You are becoming a godlike person. Isn't this what we all want to be like?

Make up your own mind. Just because we are taught wrong, doesn't mean we have to stay wrong. My parents were both democrats, and I chose to be republican. See you can change for the better.

That's something you need to figure out on your own. No one can tell you who you are until you know. If you are racist, shame on you, if you're not, fine. Be what you feel you are!
