Why do we need doctors if we are the ones who have to do the diagnosing?

Mimi.. as a matter of fact I do have a license to practice medicine.

Because the buck stops with us. We should have learned by now, there is no excuse for being a dumbass.

We've got to have our own welfare at the top of the list, even in love or friendship. If we choose to put the welfare of someone else above our own, that's OK for a while. But, we need to take care of ourselves so there will be time with the other.

You can only diagnose yourself so far... Can you find out your white blood cell count online? Can you do a biopsy to check for cancer? Can Google give you a mammogram? There are still a few things we need doctors for.

However, the internet is an AMAZING tool that gives patients more power, information, and control over their medical destiny than we have ever had before. Our current medical system NEEDS us to be informed because it is broken. The system doesn't give doctors the time, energy, or incentive to keep on top of an ever-changing landscape.
