Things that give and don't receive...? Any ideas?

Long story...I need some things that give and don't receive. The best example I could think of is a river that always flows its water into the ocean but the ocean never pushes water back upstream to give to the river. Any ideas of other things?

you can give advice...and not get anything back

i don't agree with the river though, because the ocean will evaporate into the atmosphere, condense into rain, then flow back into the river.

Certain employees and a lot of employers. Or, if it were the opposite way, I would have to say my ex mother in law. She was the most selfish person I have ever known. And her own family are who brought this to my attention. My family hates her also. So, you can see it's not just me.

i think the ocean gives mass to river to keep it flow, if you notice if its low tide the river tends to be dry too

i cant think of anything with this kind of relationship, aside from parasitism.

a mother..but some can argue that she receives joy from the child getting nurtured.
but I think good strong mothers give without wanting to receive.

hmmmmm.... maple tree's give syrup, and never ask for it back...

cows feed their calfs, but they dont get milk from their babies

plants give oxygen, but dont us it to survive

birds poop on humans, but humans never poop on birds

lil bobby jr. gives me a headache sometimes, but i never give one to him... well, maybe once with the electroshock therapy thing... but thats niether here nor there

well, Kate, that's an interesting question.....the first thing I thought of was Jesus Christ.... then the sun came to mind...then a lightbulb, now nothing.....hard question. :)
