With no playoffs in three years and very little success in the playoffs...why would such a "great" player not want to do anything possible to win the CHAMPIONSHIP. He was quoted again recently that he would not ask to be traded. Mr. Garnett you don't have many years left.
Can anyone help me with this one?

Now I'm no Garnett admirer, his stats are superb but he's rubbed me the wrong way a few times over the years, but i find it absured that someone would questions his 'greatness' because he is not trying to abandon his team in a chase for a ring...a la Malone, Payton, and countless others. It's ridiculous that he should be labeled a chicken for standing by the organization that drafted him, allowed him to start from day 1, gave him one of the biggest extensions ever and has never tried to use him as a scapegoat to blame all of their failures on. In this day and age of athletes trying to abandon ship for better teams to get a ring or just abandon a team period (Bonzi Wells) it's refreshing that this future Hall of Famer would not try to pressure his team into forcing a trade for his own selfish gains.

Kevin Garnett believes in something called loyalty. He's all this team has got. If he leaves, he'll lose the respect of the Minnesota fans, and the T'Wolves will fall apart. Some critics might even call him selfish.
But I mean, Garnett isn't the one being disloyal. He could've left Minnesota a LONG time ago. That organization has done nothing to aid Garnett in his chase for a championship, except in 2003-2004 (but they've pretty much had the same roster for at least 3 season prior to that season). Garnett should start thinking for himself because the T'Wolves won't help him out. He should get out and find a supporting cast. When he asks for a trade every team in the NBA will be salivating. Garnett needs to get out of Minnesota as soon as possible and get himself to a contender.

Garnett is a unswerving participant who in no way whined yet attampted to make Minnesota a reliable group. regrettably, the skills around him replaced into not as much as the job. He has fulfilled all duties on his settlement. Minnesota have continually denied different communities talking approximately figuring out to purchase Garnett. The T-Wolves have subsidized themselves right into a corner and left the figuring out to purchase and merchandising for Garnett slightly too late. they might desire to of completed this final 300 and sixty 5 days. Now they only seem desperate and different GM's can experience that. till he is going to Phoenix, which fairly does not want him, Minnesota will discover they are struck with and getting older All megastar who's untradeable because of the fact they does not hear to grants in the previous.

That is very disappointing,I like Kevin he's is loyal to his word saying that he will be with Minnesota until he retires, but for once I think he needs to be selfish and realistic. All the years he stayed in minnesota,he only got one supporting cast that brought him out of mediocrity but the next year the roster fell apart. He needs to be rational about his decisions, just face it,the t-wolves arent going to win a championship right now or the year after or the year after,if he truly wants to win the title he should look elsewhere. His teams is doomed by bad decisions and poor contract signing.I mean look at the Cassell-Jaric trade,Cassell plays well for the clips while jaric?what the hell happened to him?or by signing mike james to a hefty contract and drafting ndudi ebi,a virtual unkown who didnt contribute to the team and is not with them anymore,it was a waste because they got a high pick that year.Garnett's talent has always been great and vast, people always look down on it is because he has always failed in the playoff's except for the 03/04,his credentials arent impressive when it comes to the postseason,All these years he has played his heart out for his team and what do they do to reward him?surround him by a bunch of losers and mediocre players that cant help bring his team out of obscurity. If there is any chance of seeing kevin succeed and i hope he does he should find it else where, opt out, trade anything,he needs to leave minnesota before he reaches his prime.

It boils down to something you probably don't understand: loyalty. It is becoming a lost quality in today's society. Not just in professional sports, but in all walks of life. It saddens me that when a man stands up for an organization that he owes his success to (as Kevin Garnett does for the Minnesota Timberwolves) that he is questioned and even called names. It's a sad commentary on our society.

i saw an interview with KG on espn where he was asked if he wanted to be traded (this was a few days before the trade deadline this season) and he said no because he was loyal to the tims. he even looked like he wanted to cry so you can see how much the timberwolves organization means to him because of his career. even if he was the one who didnt want to be traded, i still feel sorry for him. he has no help from the rest of his team and basically has to carry them himself on his shoulders just to win games. its just a shame... he has so much talent and is considered a superstar among the league yet he doesnt have the rings to show for it. he should've did what AI and c-webb did and asked to be traded, but i guess he has too much pride to do that. so sad... =(

It's because he is a bit too loyal to his team. He has to be brave and leave his team--kinda like Iverson left the 76ers. He never wanted to, but he had to.

he has no talent to play with.he cant carry a team on his own he is not a kobe or lebron he needs someone to help him.that is why he is going to get traded or opt out next season.also because he sucks and cant play by himself.thats why Kobe is the best and should be MVP.

he's staying loyal to the team that drafted him. to him, his character is more important than a championship. And I think that is admirable.
