Why wont my piranhas eat dead food!?

Question

I've tried feeding it frozen shrimp, squid, & fish. They wont eat anything except live fish ( usually goldfishes ). How do I get them to eat anything else. Or what else can I feed them. I have 6 ternetzi's about 3 inches.

You basically will have to starve them into it. Give them several days of no food then try them again with the fresh but dead foods. Eventually they will take it. Once they start eating it, your home free.

I own two Piranhas, and I started mine on small shrimp type thing from walmart. If they get hungry they will eat. I now have mine on dried krill and they LOVE IT. Try Krill....

well you spoiled them. some piranhas only accept live food, preferably the brightly colored ones. well you could starved them, then put in the dead food. (starving them makes them more aggressive, but be careful don't starve them to long, they might turn on their friends.)

You need to have food that is moving for them to be interested in going after it. Flake or frozen food probably won't interest them at all.
