More recently, Imus took on the Veterans Administration when the Washington Post published a story uncovering the deplorable living conditions at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Consequently, Imus's rants preceded many Army resignations, including that of Gen. Kevin Kiley, the Army's now former Surgeon General. Kiley apparently lived adjacent to the troubled building; he testified before Congress that he had no idea of the deplorable conditions because performing barrack inspections was not in his job description. This totally outraged Imus, who unleashed a daily relentless attack on Kiley's personal fitness for military duty and dedication to his wounded troops. ~Wikipedia

Could someone in "high" place arranged for a fake outrage to get Imus off the air because he is so vocal about Walter Reed?

Because he asks, "how many times has Cheney visited Walter Reed?" He keeps beating the drum and doesn't get an answer?

Do any of those basketball players have Ludacris, Jay-Z, Snoop Dog, 50-cent on their iPods?

The real strawman is your Walter Reed nonsense.

Welcome to an election season
it's all fair game so it's likely he has been played.
YES, it is highly likely that "someone" has arranged for
these changes. It is just WHO is my question. The timing also is suspect.
The sky over my house looks like a summer night and calm before the storm. Same for Imus. You play up there u take hits.
SO you fight back. I don't like patriot games & hack stuff I deal with right now and a damn tornado but that's the point. You live with the storms. It's a fact of life. I listen to all sides of the arguments. Lately I have no choices as it seems. TRy and stay focused and not go too orange as the hails now hits my house. Go gettum' IMUS find another network. If I can handle my tornadoes and rollercoasters too so can he.

Sorry I don't believe Imus was set up, but do feel he was taken out of context for his remarks, he is after all a SHOCK-JOCK or comedian, His work with Ill children of all races precludes any statement as to him being a Racist, and as for the Clearly Hypocritical Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson ( I refuse to call either of these hate mongers Reverand ), They both are just looking to make more headlines to further their own self inflated egos, Imus will no doubt get reemployed on another venue and continue his fine satire on goverment and social issues.

It could be. I was totally thinking that today because the situation seems soooooo out of hand. I mean c'mon already, get over it. I think its a set-up for another talk show witch hunt. Rosie's been speaking out, I don't think the men in power will like it if she really starts to gain momentum. If I had to predict who's next. My money is on her. (And I'm glad she's talking.....)

Can people in high places do this sort of thing? Sure.....
Look at what happened to John Lennon, these things do happen..

If the Rosie thing happens like I predict, to me, it will only add credence to what she's saying.

Well he attacked Chuck Schumer too who lied about being at Walter Reed. Chuck finally admitted it. But to answer your question,it was the work of hypocrites Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

His remarks about the Rutger's basketball team has nothing to do with his remarks about Walter Reed. He said it, he said he said and he apologized. I don't believe the outrage is fake. How do you get so many people to fake outrage. That's just ridiculous.

Wow, another unsubstantiated claim.

Imus was removed from MSNBC because liberals preach free speech until you disagree with them.

Inus was fired because this was the last straw in a long series of racist remarks. He got what he deserved--and his (equally racist) apologists might as well get over it. America has outgrown their narrow-minded bigotry (most of us, anyway).
