Yes, everything does happen for a reason and ultimately for 1 reason. Self-awareness, everything that happens that affects you personally or not is a basis for your own opinions, judgement and assesment. If you look deep enough into how and why you come to decisions you make, you'll realize that it's all manifested by personal life experience. The way you percieve things should at some point in time bring you to a higher awareness of self. Whether you make a bad decision or good one, you learn more of your own character. It's in the application or actions you take based on your experiences that may tilt the scale of everything happening for a reason or the reason you made something happen...Ponder that thought for a moment. Confuse you yet?

This is a very interesting question and I would say to a degree yes. There is this fellow in Australia (Bronson Blessington) he has become the youngest person in Australia to be jailed for life not 20 yeras but life for his involvement in a horrific murder of a young girl in the 80's. A group of young homeless people got together and decided for kicks to abduct and rape a young woman. Anyway he is in jail for his involvement in her brutal murder but..........................
This young fellow who was 14 at the time of the crime highlighted a range of issues to the government of today. The plight of homeless young people and disfunctional families was certainly highlighted. Questions arose about what the State's involvement in young children from disfuntional homes and a great many changes were made to legislation and accountability of Welfare organisations. There were debates and legislative changes on prison sentences for serious crimes. In Australia a life sentence meant 20 years but now there have been changes to legislation and more understanding of victims and victim families involved in the legal system through the crimes of others. Through Bronson Blessingtons acceptance of Jesus Christ he has helped a lot of people in prison through ministry and scripture - the comfort this fellow has bought people is quite astounding so in answer yes I think things do happen for a reason. Through bad things and adversity people find direction in all things. I am not religious but I truly believe that people experience things because they are meant to happen. Another example in the Black (and white) Slave Trade to America- tragic and terrible indightment on society, completely injust but from that terrible injustice to people - other people found a voice on social justice issues and human rights and a voice to alleviate human suffering.
I believe that all the human suffering in this world something good can happen where people find their humanity and their humility and I think that is the reason. There are people who do stupid things but there is alway cause and effect. There is a saying that it is an ill wind that blows no good and basically that means some good as to come out of it. God bless

It depends on what your idea of a 'reason' is.
Not all reasons are reasons equal and justifiable to each and every person. Thus, the 'reason' why something good/bad happens to someone else and not you may contain an extenuating 'purpose' behind it, but each person who understood it would come away feeling quite different.
6 billion people, 60 billion reasons why things happen the way they do.

Carl Jung believed in Synchroniscity- everything happens for a reason and there are no accidental happenings. It's all part of the whole universe.- we are all connected.
I do believe this to be the case in my life- I've had too many "coincendences" that have turned into terrific life events.

Yes it does. you are who you are supposed to be, you are where you are supposed to be doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing right now at this moment in time. You may not like your lot in life but that is the way it is. if you do not believe me try and change things. look around you do you feel that no matter what you do you are being forced down a certain road in your life? When you try to change things is it like swimming up stream in a swift river? Some people will say you can be whom ever you wish and do what ever you wish but that is not true. You have a destiny to fulfill try and find out what that may be and work toward that end. i wish you good luck and peace.

Yes, it does, but to know what reason we'd have to understand the entire universal order and plan... unfortunately most of us aren't quite that enlightened.
Why? Well I refuse to believe life has no meaning.

I believe so, this goes back to cause & effect, everything follows another. Also the universe finds it's way to balance itself, everything needs a balance, a ying and yang.

no, things just go with the flow. They just seem to happen for a reason when you have that kind of disposition towards them.
