Where did you get the idea that "GOD can do anything"? The Bible does not teach this, nor does Christian/Jewish theology teach this.
The Bible says it is *impossible* for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18). In addition, it says God "cannot deny himself" (II Timothy 2:13). I John 1:5 says, "...God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." From these passages and others we learn that God *cannot* do what is contrary to His nature. Since God is truth, He cannot lie; since He is light, He cannot be evil. God cannot "unGod" Himself.
So, in answer to your question, God cannot deny His almightiness. Since He is all-powerful, no weight is insurmountable. Hence, to make something too heavy for Him to lift is a contradiction, and God does not and cannot contradict Himself.
*Comment*
Contrary to what "future posthuman" states, God's existence is not a logical contradiction. He is confusing Actual Existence & eternity with an actual infinite. God transcends the dimensions of space, time, energy and matter, so the absurdities which follow from the concept of an actual infinite do not apply to God.

When folks like you ask questions like this, it's fun to watch the ensuing mental acrobatics as people try to explain and excuse this logical contradiction. But, here's the simple facts:
1. Logical contradictions can not exist. Period.
2. As illustrated by questions like yours above, an infinite god is a logical contradiction. Therefore, ...
3. Point 3 is left as an exercise for the reader. :)
So, do you accept the logical, rational conclusion, or do you choose to wrap yourself in the warm, fuzzy fantasy of belief?
Here's an interesting quote I came across some time back. "Those who ask why a perfect god would create a universe so filled with evil and suffering, have missed a greater conundrum: Why would a perfect god, create a universe at all?"

This question cannot be answered because it contradicts itself.
The very concept of God (meaning all-powerful being) does not go along with not being able to do something.
God is all-powerful, therefore can do anything and everything since that is his nature. So he can't not be able to life the weight. However, at the same time, he can't not be able to create a weight he can't lift.
Basically, this is an impossible question.

No because it would be contrary to who God is: God has no limitations, no imperfections. No weight is too big for God. It could be infinitely big and God can still lift it. If he couldn't lift it that would mean God would have an imperfection, but God is perfection.

Well... I think that would be what you would call a paradox... He can do everything yet he cannot lift the weight... But then if you asked a priest or something, they would say that quote 'god would never to anything so trivial'.

if God can do anything he can choose to have His powers go away for a period of time during which he could not lift a weight previously put there. Afterwards, the time period would be up; his powers would, subsequently, return.

If He wants to make a weight that He chooses to be NOT able to lift because it is so big that He wants to NOT lift it, then sure.

I understand this question to be on a fairly primitive level of trying to complicate God.
To answer you.........It isn't necessary for the Higher Power to do such a stunt. Thus, it would never happen. End of discussion.

If God occupied himself with something like this I don't think we would be here. Thank God he had a better plan in mind.
Good Question though, no logical answer cause I don't feel much like being occupied by this myself.

Yea, sure, but after that he can make himself strong enough to lift the weight again. Hehe.
