listen to what she has to say, if you have something to contribute, chime in. A date (especially a first date) is an important way to find out if you have anything in common with this person, and determine if you want to spend any more time with her. You also need to give her an opportunity to get to know you, so put yourself out there too. Be yourself, but don't be rude, or break out your crude sense of humor until you can read what kind of person she is.
