Im not hating, but how could a society be great having killed so many people to get there?

Thats the opposite of what the romans did.

Rome had the longest lived empire in the West. Nevertheless, China's ancient empire contained more of the earth's surface and about twice the amount of humans and though it is smaller and of a completely different type of tyranny it still exist, whereas the Roman Empire is long gone..

Oh, they were "pretty good" "cordial" folks I guess, they didn't know how to make pizza worth a damn , but other than that they were pleasant, can't complain.

They were OK. But they would not have been great if not for the Greeks, who would not have been great if not for the Egyptians and so on.
