If they leave streaks on the windshield, or if they are more than 6 months old they need to be replaced.

Pretty Simple you basically use them when its raining and it'll look like there not doing much but making nosie, then you by new ones and ahhh the work will be done, there cheap and simple to change them!

when you gotta ask someone that ,it is a clear indication you need to step right up to the plate and shuck out the 15 friggin dollars and 99 cents and buy the fu**in' things!

when they start being realy slow and getting stuck on thw windows or when the water stays on the window after they go over it also if it make a screeching noise

When you turn them on in the rain, and you still can't see. If they are leaving streaks on your windsheild, or if they are coming apart at the end.
