It is the car I drive daily and was told it is dirty. It is a 1984 Z28 Camaro, V8. I want to take it to some shows or something. Is there something I can do without taking it all apart?

Use engine degreaser. Follow the directions on the can.

It depends on whether this is the outside or inside. The outside can be cleaned off with a good engine cleaner and a low-pressure car wash (never use high pressure, it will kill electrical connections.) The inside of the engine requires that you change the oil every 2000 miles and never ever use a flush. The trick is to remove the dirt and sludge slowly. If this isn't an option, then you might have to pull the oil pan off and clean that. Then change the oil often. If you use an engine flush, it get rid of all the dirt at once and brings it to the bottom of the oil pan, effectively starving the engine of oil and killing it.

you can buy engine degreaser and spray it on the engine to clean the oil and gunk off. Some car washes also have an option for engine degreasing. If you really want to clean it up then you might have to move a few components around but you probably don't have to take the engine apart as long as nothing is wrong with it.

Of course if you wanted to chrome it out or anything then obviously you would have to take some of it apart.

You mean the engine looks dirty? Sure, just take it to a car wash and us the tire and engine cleaner. It'll take most of the grease and dirt off if you're careful. It's just like cleaning any other part of your car, you just need to take the time and do a thorough job.

If you mean it has sludge in it or something, that's a whole different issue.

A simple hand wand car wash with soap does a great job. Don't worry your car will start.

The engine cleaner trick works fine but the motor must be warm or hot. Take the car to the cat wash, spray it with degrease can and spray the motor with soap and water from the wand.

If you won,t to do it right you need a steam machine it will take all the dirt and grime off , good luck

do you mean the car itself is dirty or the motor area? sure with the motor you could get a good intake, nice carburator, chrome valve covers, new colored plug wires, chrome breather, things like that will make your motor look better.

leave it alone! chevy's rely heavily on the crud caked around them, remove it and you will have problems. just drive it. you can put some shiny parts on if you want, that will clean it up some, but dont even think about taking a hose or pressure washer to it.
