You obviously don't listen to him.
Imus is not left wing or right wing.

He supported Kerry in 2004.
But, he supports John McCain for president.
He supported Rick Santorum last year.
He's pals with Pete Domenici.
He hates Hilary Clinton.
He supported Kinky Friedman for Govenor of Texas for crying out loud.

He defies any kind of categorization.

Ruth - the liberals defending him? The only people I've heard defending him are Rudy Guiliani and John McCain.

Is Al Sharpton a conservative???

He is no liberal. I dont actually care for him, BUT, I don't think he should be fired either. Chastised, for sure. Fined even. But not fired. I'd rather give him a chance to come back and hang himself again or, redeem himself. The choice is his, and he does have some power, still what he did was and most likely will continue to be to push the limits. I dont like his treatment of homosexuals, I dont like what he did to that fine basketball team, I will forever support his right to say such things for in my heart I honestly feel that with doing so I give validation to my own right to think he is a jerk and publically say so.

Imus is not a liberal. Nor is he a conservative. His beliefs are all over the spectrum. He gets tagged a lib because of his hatred for this war and his turning on this president.

But, people forget, Imus was a HUGE Bush supporter after 9/11 and through the early stages of the Iraq war. Anyone that can possibly still be a Bush supporter after seeing the fool get us stuck in a mess with no way out, must either be blind or stupid.

With McCain defending the only thing you need is to figure out where you went so wrong in life.

NO WAY

As a dedicated liberal I deny any and all attempts to place that guy in the deep Blue sea.

Well as I said in another answer, I dont know what I would label him, but it wouldnt be right wing. ( because the question asker was implying he was ).

He seems moderate as far as his political bent goes.
He will insult people on both sides.

But its not politics that he is under fire for right now.

Slip the windbag a cool mil, and he'll support anything you want.

He's not, he's technically moderate. But there are obviously some very biased and stupid people out there that think if you don't specifically advocate their point of view then you're their "worst enemy".

I was referring to the race card in general. But if you want to call those people Liberals, feel free.

I accidentally deleted my answer, and I cannot remember exactly how it went. (true story)

Something about the hypocrisy of the people defending him.
