This incident is just typical of the police state that has been established by Bush and his cronies.
Last week I tried to rent a P.O. box and they made me provide a copy of my lease, just to get it. When I commented to the postal worker that I didn't need to jump through hoops, the last time I got a Post Office Box, she replied in zombiesque tones "It's for the security of our country."
I'm not making this up!
The so called "Patriot Act" is martial law!
Patrick Henry is spinning in his grave.

This is an excellent question, and I agree that the Patriot Act should be abolished as soon as possible. Anything that favors the globalists over the people is wrong, and needs to be repealed. That includes the Federal Reserve, the IRS, the illegal and unconstitutional income tax, and of course, the Patriot Act, among many other similar things. We can only win back our country if we all wake up and realize who our real enemy is! *sm*

I shouldn't be surprised by the replies to this post, but I still am. This is what's so wrong with the Patriot Act. By definition a patriot is one who loves his or her country. That definition does not mention the President. I believe the most patriotic act one can do is protest, demonstrate and use your freedom of speech to communicate how you feel about the direction America is headed.

It depends on what he said in his "criticism". Inflammatory remarks are flagged and placed on a watch list. If no further evidence of anything is gathered, the name is dropped off the list. As with anything else humans are involved in, mistakes are made (particularly with government people) and sometimes names don't get dropped. Recently, the same thing happened to John Gibson of Foxnews. He was bounced off his flight because his name popped up on a Dept. of Homeland Security watch list. It took several hours (and he missed his flight) but the mistake was corrected. I don't know if the same can be said for your professor since I don't know all the details.

No it isn't right. But this isn't the first time anyone has been put on a watch list for criticizing Bush either.

Just email the white house criticizing him and see how fast your future emails are not only blocked, but monitored. Conservatives you really need to try this too. No *ss kissing - just criticize and see what happens.

Almost the first words out of his mouth about this war were "If you're not with me - you're against me".

I don't know if this is true or not. But I wouldn't be suprise. Wasn't an agent killed because her husband spoke out against the presidents policies!! Then someone for the adminstration leaked out the agents name!!!
Even Ford made a tape against Bush's Iraq polices!!!

Thanks for the link, I'm sure the Patriot Act will be repealed as soon as Bush is gone. There are investigations connecting the legislature with George Bush's malice, and corruption right now. This isn't getting the GOP any votes.

To comrad, it certainly could affect a Brit if they tried to get on an airplane to America or in America. It should make no difference that he is white, no one should get on any watch list for stating their opinion.
I agree, WAKE UP AMERICA; I would add, IMPEACH BUSH & CHANEY before it is too late.

My step mother gets pulled at every flight because she has the same name as someone else. She has no problem with it.. What is your point?

..edit - on second thought, based on many of your previous posts, if this is a professor that you have learned from, I hope he never gets on a plane in my country! And why is color of skin such a gd issue with you?
