I'm very interested. I was reading at some articles but they are so complex it hurts my head. Anyone kind enough (or should I say) to explain in simple words?
Specifically : stars and why are they arrange in certain way and which are the major ones?

"...stars and why are they arrange in certain way..." Gravity literally positions the stars in space.

"...which are the major ones..." Depends on what aspect we're talking about --- nearest stars? ---- brightest stars? --- largest stars? ---

Try being more specific with your questions and we'll all try to help.

The TV and papers seem to think astronomy is black holes and Hubble Space Telescope pictures of things you will never see with your own eyes.

I think astronomy is what you can see in the sky on any clear night just by looking up.

Stars are simply other Suns that are SOOOOOoooooo far away that they look like tiny, dim points of light. We people look at them in the sky and give them names and make up stories about the patterns we see. Like that group of stars over there looks like a scorpion, so we will call it that. Kind of like saying that a cloud looks like a horse or whatever.

A few stars do not stay in the same places all year, they wander around among the other stars, and when you look at them with a telescope you see that they are really planets.

There are many resources, but I googled up this one that might be a good start for you.

I would recommend picking up an introductory astronomy textbook at the library. It's got all the information you're probably looking for.

Stars make up our galaxy. The largest ones are known a 'O' type stars, and they are very large and bright.

I would recommend getting a book on introductory astronomy. My favourite one is "The Stars", by H. A. Rey (yeah, the Curious George guy -- he was an avid amateur astronomer.) It's written for kids, but has great star charts and lots of stories about the stars and constellations.

Yes the study of Astronomy is very difficult, so dont feel bad. A great place for simplified information will be on Wikipedia.
