Well for 1 stop using bleach, it only turn´s the clothes Grey and Yellow, then eat´s the material. Try with the good old fashioned bar soap , you know for washing clothes . You can buy this in your local hardware store & lot´s of supper markets sell it. Soak your clothes in cold water , rub with soap . Leave free from water with the soap still on , this helps the soap soak into the material. Leave like this for 1/2 hr or so , then back to the water rub more saop on then straight to the washing machine on a 40ºc. Next once the machine has finished , hang your clothes out in the sunlight . The sun will do the rest of the work by bleaching your whites the natural way . Whiter than White

Use 1/4 cup baking soda in addition to your soap. Let the clothes agitate for 5 min. then add 1/2 cup bleach and agitate for another minute. Stop the machine and let the clothes soak for a few hours. Start the cycle from the beginning and don't forget the fabric softener.

Good old fashiones Borax...It's a powder that comes in a box & you will find it your nearest supermarket or Walmart in the laundry/cleaning aisles...This powder works wonders. I even use some regular bleach or some oxy-clean with it. It's also a greak bug killer, non-toxic to pets. Just read the box to find out its many other uses!

As an alternative, depending on the size of load, use 1/2-1 cup of white vinegar in white laundry.

You can add Mrs. Stewart's Blueing to the rinse cycle. You can also get Rit whitener to add, or this powder stuff called Yellow Out. They all work well. Mrs. Stewarts is the cheapest, just don't pour it directly on the clothes, and follow the directions on the bottle.
