They do calculate it for you. If you don't file and you owe, they'll send you a bill. It will probably take a while and already have incurred interest by the time you get it. If they owe you they will gladly hold onto your money until you ask for it. You could probably send them a bill for your time but I don't think the response will be a pleasant one.
