No need to take her/him to the vet. If your cat is keeping you up nights by doing this, try feeding him/her a can of wet food before you go to bed, he/she will have a full belly & go to sleep as well. My cats did the same thing, now that I've done that, she has learned to settle down during the night. It may take a week or two, be patient!!

Your eyes flutter in your sleep so that's why the cat swats it. My plays with my hair too. If it is a kitten play real hard with it about 20 minutes before bedtime and it will sleep through the night.

your eyelashes probably amuse her and your hair is like strings. All cats like strings. I had to put my cat in the bathroom at night for a while until I got him fixed so he would calm down and stop attacking my face in my sleep. He quit after that. Nothing is wrong with her. She just thinks you are a play toy. :o) Good luck.

I have the same problem with my boyfriends cat..
I think she wants to kill me but he says the cat is just playing. I would only see it as a problem if she actually scratches you or pokes your eyeball out. I wouldn't want to take the chance so I would just get your cats claws removed, but she might keep on doing it.
I don't think a vet would help unless you wanted to pay megs $$$ for a behavoir specialist.
Good luck!

Its a natural thing. Cats are hunters. When you are asleep, your hair and eyes flutter and move every time you do. Your eyes more so, especially if you are dreaming.
Its natural- nothing to worry about. Shes just practicing what is a natural instinct for her and all other cats.
Theres nothing wrong with her.

I'm guessin she just wants attention or to play. My cat paws at my hair til I move my head to let her sleep on my pillow. Yeh, she's spoiled! So, I dont think it's a serious problem.
