My wife has taken this mutual separation very poorly and my kids now hate me.She has taken a restraining order to prevent me visiting or contacting my boys.I have not done anything to justify this and have objected to the grounds in court .My lawyer has sent letters and we get no reply so far.People tell me to wait, but after 2 months of no 1-1 contact I am having trouble coping. The restraining order I have left in place to protect myself and possessions ,but it doesn't help with seeing my boys.I have sort help early in the piece to check on the kids welfare and pleaded from the start for the kids to not be brought into any arguments or property disputes. This has not been the case and all I'm told is the court will sort this out but when ??? HELP !!!!!

It could take a long time for the courts to sort this out. Speak with your lawyer and see if you and your wife could come to common ground about visitation even if it is supervised. Ask for just a few hours and see what comes out of it. You should not be denied visits with your kids. I'm sure she has talked about you badly around your kids and that is why they hate you. No children should be brought into parents problems and I feel for you with this. Tell your lawyer the waiting is affecting your health and couldn't he speed up the process. Many times they take their time doing this, but for your sake I hope they will see it will not do any good by waiting. You shouldn't have to wait, this is stupid in its self. She is only trying to punish you and be controlling. Keep at it and don't relent.

at your next court hearing. there must have been a hearing to get the restraining order. at that hearing it should have been established of when the OSC hearing will be set to clear out the issues of custody and support. my question to you is what happened to have a restraining order be put in place for that length of time? whatever it was, your best bet is to start taking some parenting classes immediately so visitaton will be favorable. even some anger management classes couldn't hurt. whether or not your wife has grounds, you should still take these classes...it will look positive in court.

Courts just don't award restraining orders randomly. You have to have just cause, then you can respond and even go to court. You must've done something......How does a restraining order against you protect you? Get a good lawyer.

How old are you children? Are they old enough to understand what happen with this separation? Did you have a chance to explain the situation to your children? Can you at least talk to them on the phone or IM?

The court will always take time and I'm sure you're anxious to be with your children. I suggest that you talk to her parents or talk to someone who is close to your wife. Ask them to help remedy the situation.
