I have my PS2 hooked straight into my dsl/cable modem and when I use the disk to set up the network it won't find the connection and I shouldn't be having this much trouble. It is a new silver slimline PS2 and my internet on my CPU works great but for some reason it won't work on my PS2. Please help!

You said it works fine on your PC, so are you trying to run both at the same time? You need a router to use both the PC and the PS2 online.
If your using a router, you plug in a ethernet cable to the router, and another ethernet cable to the port in your slim ps2.

I see the problem.#1 you have dsl. #2 you need to have the internet bar. and if you have that #3 You may need a new modem, or modem wire, try reseting your modem

It has to be run through a router.

Connect your ps2 to the router.
